International Women’s Day – A Journey of 40 Years of Women’s Empowerment

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, I find myself reflecting on an emotional and meaningful journey. It has been nearly 40 years since I began nurturing and managing this organization. Over these four decades, our organization has experienced many ups and downs, challenges and achievements, but the spirit of working for women’s empowerment has remained constant.

When I look back, I remember the early days when many women in our communities lived behind the ghoonghat, hesitant to step outside their homes. Some worked in other people’s houses just to support their families. Despite the limitations they faced, they carried within them immense strength, resilience, and determination. Being part of their journeys, seeing their gradual transformation into confident and aware individuals, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

The work of our organization has always been rooted in the belief that every woman has the potential to lead, to inspire, and to create change in her community. Over the years, we have witnessed many women discovering their voice, building confidence, and becoming active participants in social and community development.

Today, when I see the same dedication and enthusiasm in our new President, Mrs. Mamta, it reminds me of the early days of this journey. She represents the strength of rural women who balance multiple responsibilities every single day. She begins her mornings by preparing meals for her family, fulfills her household duties, and yet remains committed to serving the community and contributing to social development.

Her dedication reflects the spirit of countless rural women who continue to uphold their values and traditions while also stepping forward to take on leadership roles. It is this spirit that keeps the mission of our organization alive and growing.

On this International Women’s Day, I dedicate my heartfelt appreciation and respect to Mrs. Mamta and to every woman who quietly balances family responsibilities, cultural values, and social commitment.

As we step forward into the future, I carry a deep sense of hope and confidence that the journey of women’s empowerment, dignity, and leadership will continue to grow stronger with every passing year.
