Sabia’s True Story: From Unconscious on the Road to a New Beginning
(A real incident handled by MASS Organization, Varanasi)

Sabia, a young married woman from Bihar, had lived a life full of struggles. One day, fate brought her to Varanasi and changed the course of her life forever.

                                                                               SABIA

Found Unconscious Near BHU

One day, the police found a woman lying unconscious near BHU in Varanasi. They informed the staff of MASS organization. The team brought her to the organization’s Short Stay Home (Alpawas Griha).

For the first two–three months, Sabia was mentally unstable and unable to speak or recall anything. The organization arranged medical treatment, and gradually her condition improved.

During Counseling, a Painful Truth Emerged

When she became stable, Sabia shared her heartbreaking story during counseling.

She revealed that she was married to Mumtaz Ali, a resident of Bihar. Mumtaz used to teach Urdu and Arabic tuitions. Their closeness grew over time, but Sabia’s parents were against this relationship.

Sabia eventually left home and married Mumtaz.
After marriage, her parents cut off all ties with her.

For two years, Sabia lived a peaceful life with her husband and even had a daughter.

But slowly, Mumtaz’s behavior changed — he started beating her over small issues and even threatened her with divorce.

Her maternal family refused to support her. No one from her relatives helped. Sabia begged her husband to accept her, reminding him of her love and sacrifices.

Abandoned in Varanasi

One day, Mumtaz took her to Varanasi on the pretext of medical treatment.
He brought her near BHU and abandoned her there, leaving her alone and helpless.

It was in this vulnerable condition that Sabia was found and brought to MASS.

The Organization’s Efforts

During her stay at the Short Stay Home, Sabia cried constantly for her little daughter. She provided the phone number and address of her parents, and MASS contacted them.

But her father responded:

“She is dead for me… I can only give you her husband’s number.”

The founder of MASS, Mrs. Sneh Lata Shrivastava, contacted Mumtaz Ali several times, pressuring him to come and take Sabia back. She warned him that an FIR would be filed if he did not come.

At first he made excuses —
 “She went missing… I tried to find her… I couldn’t…”

But after the warning, he finally arrived with his mother and their daughter at the Short Stay Home.

Reconciliation and a New Beginning

At the organization, Mumtaz apologized and admitted his mistakes.
 His mother said:

“We thank God Sabia was found safe and protected. Your organization has done a noble deed.”

As per Sabia’s wishes, no police case was filed.
The organization took a written affidavit on stamp paper from Mumtaz stating that:

  • He will not mistreat Sabia in the future.
  • He will take proper care of her.
  • He sincerely apologizes for his mistakes.

The organization gifted Sabia a farewell present as she left with her husband and daughter to begin a new chapter of life.

Today, Sabia Smiles Again

Today, Sabia is safe, reunited with her daughter, and starting life afresh.
The smile and glow on her face tell the whole story.

Thanks to the efforts of MASS, a shattered life was restored with dignity and hope.
